Should I get a Bass Electric Guitar or an Electric Guitar?

Question

Which guitar is good for a beginner? Also my friend is getting a bass too, would be better if I got a regular electric? If you could tell me any place to look for any for a cheap price taht would be great.

It depends what YOU want to do.  Do you want to carry the beat as a bass player or be the melody maker as a guitar player?  Both are fun and rewarding.  If you are looking to start a band with your friend, it sounds like he wants to be the bass player, so that leaves you with a guitar.  AND...you can always play your friends bass since the 4 strings on the bass are the same as your top 4 strings on the guitar!

I'd get one, then pick up the other later. for you, get the guitar any recent fender is good for playing just about any style

if your friend is getting a bass, i would get an electric guitar.

then you can form a band

you can buy them form your local music shop or you could get a good bargain on eBay

Judging by your circumstances go for guitar, they are also easier to find cheap.
