Because I had a cat for 3 years but I got bored from it after like a few months, because before I used to spent hours and hours but after half a year I only petted him a few minutes a day...

I'm scared the same thing will happen with a guinea pig, or is it different??

and does it smell bad too??

  1. I don't think a guinea pig would be a good pet for you.

They can be skittish and require lots of time and patience to "tame" if you get them from a pet store, and if you were bored of a cat so soon I can only imagine how soon you'd tire of a guinea pig. They also require weekly cage cleanings, which is time consuming.

Perhaps you should not get a pet until you're a bit older and your attention span is better.

  2. A guinea pig will definitely be more "boring" than a cat. They are not as demanding of attention as cats and are much more timid. And yes they do tend to smell since they are kept in cages.

If you really want an amusing pet, consider a parrot or dog. They are much more social with humans.

  3. Guinea pigs wee smells pretty bad, guinea pigs need a lot of attention everyday to keep them tame. They should be kept in pairs or in a small group as they are pack animals like rats. Obviously they will need to be two neutered girls or a neautered female and male but never two males. They also need lots of space and freedom to run around, they get bored easily and will get nasty if bored or frightened. I wouldn't suggest a guinea pig for you Maybe a hamster would be better, as long as there feed watered and clean they don't mind being left alone.
