MACBOOK AIR VS. DELL INSPIRON 7500?

I have the choice between a Used Apple MacBook Air Laptop or a USED Dell Inspiron Laptop. Which to choose? and Why?

Oh by the way, both of my friends happen to be selling them. Each of my friends are selling for the same price -- $230!!!

Oh and is there MSN on Macs?? lol I have no clue.

Anyone have any ideas of how I could convince my mom to get me this as a REALLY early Christmas present... My birthday is in February so that's out of the question. Both of my friends need to sell and I need YOUR HELP!

Thanks sooo much!

By the way, I am only 14 and I just would like to use it for making/editing home videos, MSN, internet, school projects, etc!

  1. I say dell because I have had 2 computers by them and they are great computers. Best buy I feel I ever made. Plus, I have a dell laptop right now and you can get all of that on it. Plus I use mine for school.

  2. neither, macs air sucks.....dells suck....laptops suck. no matter how good the laptop is it will suck in about a month!!!!!!

  3. Dell would be the best if you will be using it for what you listed.  Good luck!

  4. Personally, I like Macs, but the MacBook Air SUCKS! It breaks very easily, has no disk drive, and has a very small hard drive. The price that your friend is selling it for is good only if you don't mind the flaws. I think that you should go with the dell. You'll be getting more for your money if you do.

  5. There are too many drawbacks to getting the Mac Air.

You may have to invest more money into getting a cd/dvd drive, usb enclosure, etc.

You will be better off with the Dell.

  6. I'm a mac guy, so I'm inclined to say the mac... but if it's a MacBook Air, you only want to get it if you have another Mac lying around - preferably with both bluetooth and wifi connectivity, since you'll be needing to wireless connect to their CD/DVD drives (Air doesn't come with one, that's how it's so flippin' thin).  The Air is also first generation hardware, which is always a risky investment.  As much as it pains me to say it, unless you're willing to drastically change your disk drive usage and have another capable mac lying around, go with the Dell.

  7. Mac

You can't put a price on cool. :)

MSN is available on a mac - in fact on a macbook air, you can even run windows if there was some software that wasn't available for OSX though most software can be gotten on a mac now.

Macs are cooler. Watch the PC vs Mac ads. :)

    Mac Mac Mac.

Are you getting the mac yet?

And if you don't get your friend to email me - I will buy it :)

  8. mac better editing soft ware and msn should be on there

  9. Dell rocks

  10. Wow that's a good deal get the air even though  the air doesn't have a disk drive that's  what you should get, dells break to much (both hardware and inside) Mac is good for making the videos, plus you can make msn into an app. so you can use it all the time.
