Question:

Should I get a Male or a Female Corn Snake?

I looked it up and saw that it doesn't make a difference but I also saw that one lady's female has never been with another snake but laid infertile eggs. I don't know if I got a female and she would do that too but I don't want to have to take her to some special herp-vet.

Should I maybe get a male?

  1. Egg binding or 'dystocia,'  is a risk with any female reptile.  If you wish to avoid the possibility: get a male.

There is no real difference in temperment between the sexes, though males tend to be smaller.

Kuddos for researching the snake before you get it.  This shows responsibility, and bodes well for a happy owner and a healthy and content pet.

I'll post some links below you can peek out when you find time.

Most of all, enjoy your new Corn.

I hope this has been helpful.

  2. get a male, although there is no difference unless your thinking of breeding the snake.

  3. ya get a male you don't want infertile eggs
