I am getting ready to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. I work full time and have a six year old at home. I am considering going for my Masters. Is it really worth it? I do not make very good money now and really want to make as much as I can to support my family. Thanks.

  1. Yes. A master's would give you a firm standing in the business world as oppose to a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

  2. Obtaining a Masters Degree will land you corporate jobs.  The starting pay for those with a BS and a MS can range from $3k to $10k.  I am studying accounting/finance and planning on to further my education with a Masters.  And you will want to get the CPA license as well.  I work full time and support my family as well.  Do your calculations, and see what the return is on your investment.  I am considering an online school, SUNY IT at Rome.  They have an online MS in Accountancy.  The tuition is very affordable.  Good luck!

  3. Yes you should and you can! More and more people are getting their masters and it's becoming the new standard. Get your master's and it will increase your chances of landing and keeping a good steady job.

Good luck to you and your family.

  4. yes go for it. never stop seeking a higher education. it always pays off in the end. the only drawback is the sacrifices you will probably have to make along the way. However the ends always justifies the means when you reach your goal!!
