Should I get a bar license?

I'm from Melbourne, Australia and plan to go backpacking in europe from later on this year. I heard that it is easy to get work in the UK in bars, but I was wondering if a bar license was needed. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

No, as long as you're only travelling and not intending to stay more than 6 months, you can work free lance in any bars etc without any kind of documentation!
