The man I've been dating for over a month has asked me to join him for his friend's 50th birthday party. I got the guy a card, just not sure if I should get a gift for him or not. I've never met him before and know very little about him. What do you think?

  1. Have your boyfriend sign both of your names to his card with his present.

  2. I agree with Bernie's answer.

If you do not know the person, you are not obligated to get the person a present

  3. Because you don't know this man, it's not your place to buy him a gift. It is more fitting for the man you are seeing to do that and let the birthday guy know that it is from the two of you. Go and enjoy the party.

  4. Why not a mutual gift from you and your boyfriend?  Thats what my boyfriend and I do in these types of situations.

If your boyfriend doesn't agree, a card is just fine.

  5. Just have your boyfriend sign ur name and his on the gift, u should have 2 get him anything since u dont really kno him, Enjoy ur self and have fun!! Good luck!

  6. How thoughtful that you got a card!  You're not obligated to gift anyone, but it's always nice if you do.  I would go with the other suggestions of having your boyfriend sign your name to the card, as well.
