I have a full time job. And I can save up money for a down payment. I want to get a $5,500 used car. The trade in for my old car would be about $1000 I am guessing. My car's a/c is broke and its about to need a new timing belt. Should I fix my old car and try to save up for a while or just trade the thing in now and get rid of it... I don't have good credit.

  1. i would get the new car. if anything else went wrong with the one you have now it could put you and who ever is riding with you in danger.

  2. first save your money then find out how much your trade in will really be worth after you've fixed the timing belt  you can look up trade in values here   www.kbb.com

  3. Wonder why the last guy traded it in...you might just be getting someone's elses problems...at least with your own car you know what it needs...

  4. Wait!  Drive your current car until it dies - and save as much money as you can until then.

  5. Save up, but give yourself a time line and decide how much you will save from every paycheck.  Then stick to it!!

  6. Keep the old car running and save money. With bad credit you are going to get had on the interest rate and pay WAY too much for another car.
