Question:

Should I get a gift for the lady who is hosting my baby shower?

I have my first baby shower this weekend. My husband's sister's mother-in-law is hosting it for me at her house. She is taking care of all the details-sending out invites, preparing the food, making the favors. She does not want me to lift a finger to help. I am very appreciative that she is doing this and would love to give her something for doing this for me. What should I give and how much is too much to spend?

  1. I would just send her a thank you card.

  2. the best gift i got was from my mother. It was a fragrance cartridge that you can change as often as you want. At the baby shower she hooked it up and it made the entire hall smell like baby powder! It was so wonderful. I put it my home and when guest came to visit the house it always smelled nice and wonderful. I now have 20 other scents (chocolate chip cookie, birthday cake- for when she turns one! etc). The best part is it last all year and much safer than dangerous candles. You could get it to her asap. Im sure she will love it. Such a practical gift. If you are interested, feel free to contact me!

  3. I would do it. It is just one way of saying Thanks to someone that is working hard on your behalf. I wouldn't go crazy and buy anything expensive, but around $25-$35 would be nice.

  4. I would-just a nice gesture to know you appreciate all of her hard work!

  5. I would say she definitely deserves a gift. Maybe a necklace, pair of earrings, something like that. Or a gift card to her favorite restaurant or something. Maybe $25-50 is the right amount to spend.

  6. My best friend did my shower and I gave her a basket full of movie themed goodies... such as candies you can get at the movie theater, cans of her favorite drink and a blockbuster gift card. You can get her a gift card to her favorite restaurant... and spend around 20-50... keep in mind all the stuff you are going to be getting because of her hard work!

  7. Get her a gift card to a spa for a day of pampering. Hosting a baby shower is a lot of work and this would really show how much you appreciate her giving you a shower.

  8. She certainly will not be expecting anything, so any token of your appreciation would be nice! You could bring her flowers to the shower and send her a REALLY nice thank-you card after the shower detailing how wonderful a job she did!

  9. i wouldnt spend more than 30 bucks. get her a gift card to her fav resturant or fav store and a thank you card.

  10. Not a bad idea at all. There are several things you can think of as suitable presents, for instance you can decide to include a handmade portrait or painting of something or someone she likes. Just have the photos or pictures sent to the professional artists at http://www.paintyourlife.com and they will create wondererful portraits out of them.

They also do wonderful photo-printing on canvas in different designs. Please take a look at http://www.photo-print-on-canvas.com for more information.

  11. Yes it would be nice

  12. Absolutely get her a nice little something. Doesn't need to be huge. My girlfriend got me a small bath set in a fragrance I like when I hosted her shower. Couldn't have cost her more than $30. It was still a nice thought.
