Should I get a new Laptop or a new Computer?

Question

For my birthday I get the choice of a new computer or new laptop, which should I go for?

I actually have a laptop, and I am not on the go all the time.  My laptop actually never left my house but I still love it. I can sit comfortable on my bed and watch a movie or play games on my lap.  I personally like the freedom of movement instead of keeping it on my desk. Don't think laptops are only for people on the go.

like the above people said, if you are on the go or want portability, get a laptop. Desktops are usually cheaper though, the starting dell desktop is under $300 as the starting notebook is about $500. I personally prefer laptops more than desktops so i would recommend you a notebook. Dell, Toshiba, HP, Asus, Lenovo, and some Gateways are all decent brands. i have a toshiba and it is very reliable

Desktops are better for playing games and modifying the hardware.  Laptops are for mobile use.  A desktop that is worth the same as a laptop will usually have better components.  If you are "on the go" i would recommend a laptop.

You should get an Apple Laptop. Laptops are portable, and better yet, more stylish. But if you aren't frequently on-the-go, then you should get a computer; they usually have better systems and memory.

Depends entirely on your lifestyle.  I prefer a desktop because of the keyboard and mouse.  If you are on the go, buy a laptop.
