I’ve got Final Fantasy IX for the PS1, but I’m terrible at looking after things and the discs are in bad condition; 1, 3, and 4 are badly scratched and 2 is thrown away because it got smashed.
I’ve been trying to play disc 1 on the PS2 but it says ‘disc read error’ and none of my PS1 games work on the PS2 at all, so no hope there.
Soo I’ve been playing disc 1 on the PS1, but ‘cos it’s kinda old, it randomly resets every so often and besides, the game isn’t amazing quality.
I REALLY want to play FFIX, I don’t know why. But if I get a new game, would I have to get a new PS1, too? I don’t want to get a PS3 and games aren’t working on the PS2…so that would be another purchase; I’ve searched for reliable, new systems and games and they’re not too cheap.
So can I have your opinion? Should I get FFIX again, maybe try it on the system, and then get another PS1 if it still doesn’t work – I’m somewhat wary because I’ve got a Wii & PS2 (that seems to be clocking out too; a lot of my PS2 games freeze) and I know I won’t play anything else on the PS1. Or should I forget about it and save up for something else? I don’t know why, I just really want to play FFIX…
Thanks for your help!
