Question:

Should I get a new insurance plan? (what to start a family)?

HUsband and I got insurance through a broker out of state. Obviously he didn't explain the plan to us well enough and found out that the extra we thought we were paying for maternity coverage was not for maternity at all. We only have coverage if something goes wrong.

Insurance is confusing enough and when we were thinking about ttc and wanted to talk to our broker about what we need he's no where to be found!

Should we get a new plan and broker. What kind of plan would work best for us? We're self employed but need to spend our money wisely. Will it be best for us to pay cash getting a discount worked out with dr. and hosp.? We live in Ohio if that help.

  1. Always find a broker that is licensed in your state. If that person is not licensed in your state  he is not selling insurance.

I would suggest if your starting a family to see this page for HSA plan information.

Maternity is an option and expensive to add to a family plan.

    Some cost 7,000+ or a 10,000 Ded

So if your paying, plan your family ahead.
