Should I get a new mini cooper?

Question

At first I was looking at a used mini but I realized I just need ot borrow 11k for a new mini which will last me longer and I could pay off in a year. Anyway... should I buy a new mini cooper? is it worth it in reliability/gas mileage/safety/resale value? It would be just the basic mini (may consier adding 1 or 2 options, no packages planned) Manual mini cooper hardtop. Should I wait for the 2009 or just get 2008?

the mini's are en excellent car for the money for the points you already pointed out and you get a lot of car for what you pay, espically because basically it's a BMW, but i would wait untill the 09 models come out because you will find good deals on the left over 08 models.

If you really want new, wait until the 09 models come out and you may find some real bargains on the left over 08 models.

Go test drive one now.  You will love it.  Wait for the 2009's if you like.  There are three new color's coming out...lime green, kumquat orange and pink grapefruit.  You could try to get a deal on a 2008 but it unlikely that you will.  1.)  Most of these cars go for MSRP ...no deals.   And 2.)  There are not that many in stock.  Plus many of the cars in stock are the one's that come with the package's.

If you want a base model with few options...order it new or keep searching for it used.  The mini of your dreams is out there.  The cars are definitely worth it.  They have high residual values,  good gas mileage, they get good marks in safety crash tests, but most of all,  they are a blast to drive!

personally considering all those factors i still would wait to 2009 model . its should be out soon

never a good idea to buy new...sorry u asked because u want new...i hear it in your voice...  2 to 4 yrs old ALWAYS the best deal...but go ahead and make yourself happy,,,hoooo am i to tell u no
