Phones are more useful and have more stuff on it.

Why go for a 5 Mega pixel camera phone. Go for a 10 mega pixel Camera better optics better flash. A real camera is not trying to squeeze everything into a tiny box. Aloso you will have better ways to frame your shot.

Why don't you think of it in terms of what you need? Is your mobile broken? Or do you just want a new one for the sake of it? If that's your reason I think you should get a new camera.

cameras are only good for taking pictures,

while phones take pictures, texts, calls, games, music, calls...ect.
