I have a big house all to myself and my animals( 1 dog & 1 cat). If I got a roommate I could get a new car? Or should I just stick with my old car and my peaceful house?

  1. It's totally a personal choice.  If you really wish to have a new car and don't have the money to spare, renting one or two rooms out will get you the extra money you need.  Some people really hate to live with a housemate and rather to work harder to earn some extra $$ instead. If you're living by yourself, make sure be careful to choose your tenant and run a credit check on them.  Sign an agreement will also protect your right as LL.

  2. if you do get a roommate, give them

a full written lease and add a mediator to it.

NOTHING is free.  YOU already figured that.

question is, what is your 'prison sentence?"

    luck

  3. Broke Desperate and Stupid travel in packs and your about to do all 3 of them in one transaction.  What happens if the roommate moves out and then you are stuck with a large car payment that you cant afford. I have a better option for you save your money and in a year or so sell you car and upgrade in car to newer one.  The average new car depericates 60% in the first 4 years.   Save you money and buy a car 2-3 years old and let someone else take the hit.
