Question:

Should I get a snowboard while I'm still growing?

I'm wondering if I should get a snowboard right now. I'm 13 years old, and I love to snowboard. My dad said I could get one because he doesn't want to rent anymore because it would cost the same.

I'm just worried about if I get a snowboard, and in a couple of years I will outgrow it and I have to get a new one?

HELP PLEASE

  1. if i was you i would get one that barely too big like a few cm and ride it until you need a new one. but dont sell it. it's always fun to have a shorty to ride around and spin like a top with

  2. If you're up at the mountain at least 10 days a season it's probably worth it to invest.  You can buy one a bit bigger so it's the right size next season and then get some use out of it the season after.

Do the math on it - if rentals are $30/day for board and boots and you spend $450 on your own setup then you only need 15 trips on it to pay it off.

Take your dad up on it, be appreciative and thank him lots, he sounds awesome!

  3. I do this for my kids - I size them a little big and they ride them for 2 or 3 years and then we sell them - it actually costs less than leasing a board for 2 or 3 seasons.

    Good Luck

  4. just get one slightly bigger than fits you...if you don't damage it and need a new one in a year or two anyway, you can sell it or trade it
