Question:

Should I get an anti-reflectory coating on my glasses?

I'm getting a new pair of glasses, and I was wondering: Is it better to get an anti-reflectory coating on the lenses? I'm not going to be driving at night, which is one of the benefits that I found about the a-r coating when I looked it up. Are there any other specific things that are good or bad about the coating, and should I get them for my glasses?

  1. An anti Reflection coating makes your lenses clearer all the time , reducing glare from computer and TV screens also.

It also looks a lot better for those looking at you, they can see your eyes, not just a glare on the lenses.

The AR coating increases light transmission by about 8% through the lenses, so it is sharper at all times, although the difference is more noticable at night.

  2. Yes get them. Also I know that with my plan, when I was under 18 it was free so I never said no.

Also when you take pictures you won't have that glare.

  3. I have an anti-reflective coating on my main pair of glasses and have just had new lenses put into my old frames - but as this was just to make a spare pair, I only paid for an anti-scratch coating.  By comparing the two, I can see that my vision is clearer with the anti-reflective pair.  It also means that photos of me wearing glasses are much more successful (for many years I took my glasses off for photos until I realised how much better I looked with them on!)
