I was in ballet when I was younger for like

2 weeks (I don't think that really matters)...

I'm 15 now, and I really like watching it and

want to get back into it.. but would that seem

silly and would I be in a class with ppl my

age who have been in ballet for like 10 yrs?

I just think it would seem awkward ... help? lol

  1. go for it. there are people who have started at seventeen and been professionals! and it wont be awkward, everyone is really supportive, especially if you just started.

well, in my experience at least

  2. You definately should I had a kind of similar thing with Irish dance; I did it when I was younger, and wanted to restart, but I'm 17. Most girls who dance irish at my age are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G because everyone's been doing it since they were like 3, but seriously it's well worth getting back into it! You could see if your dance school has adult beginner classes; that's what I did to get into it then when I felt confident enough I joined levels again-I was in advanced beginner 3 months ago when I re-started but now I'm novice/prizewinner; it's just a matter of being able to learn steps and have the dedication to practice a lot and get them perfect.

    Good luck with your dancing!

  3. if u really want to, i quit ballet just a few months ago but i might go back in. Ballet is fun, try going back in:) u shoudn't care if anyone is better than u, just keep working hard in ballet and u can be as good or better than the class!:)

  4. Well...Its OK. But i would recommend something more ur age, cuz ballet is something you'd do for fun. Something ur age would be more enjoyable=P

  5. bring a friend with u who has never taken dance before and just goof off together... that will take a lot of stress out of it!

  6. i did ballet when i was 5 and it was cool but i had to stop cos mum couldnt take me anymore cos of work

now im 16!!!!! and decided "well ya know what! i like dancing especially ballet and i have already wasted all this time not getting back into something i love so im gonna do it!"

so i rang up my local dance studio and i am now doing ballet. i am thetallest in the class,by only one head so that dusnt matter, but theres a very high chance the teacher will put u in the class just before you reach pointe so you will be ok.

just watch "ice princess" by disney and itll give you more inspiration. its so much fun,and i dont care that im the oldest, its so much more fun, plus i figured that since it is a local dance school, a lot of my peers go there so since i wasnt in their classes it meant i could try, try and try again without being embaressed. remember that ur doing ballet because YOU LOVE IT. ok?and yes about the 10 years thing, it dusnt reli matter cos each year you learn different things anyway so theyll be just as lost as you. no kidding. im dancing with 10 year olds and 13 year olds. its ALLGOOD .

i hope you do do ballet cos its so much fun.

    dance is awesome

    practice makes perfect,

    no pain,no gain.

  7. Almost the same thing with me. I took ballet when I was three and quit when I was four. I started back up when I was thirteen, and I was with girls who had been doing it FOREVER!! I felt really stupid at first, but I just had to ask for a little extra help and direction and I caught on pretty fast. Really the only thing I was behind in was position and move names. Otherwise, learning the dances wasn't hard. If you feel you'd be able to catch on fast, and you feel you're a strong dancer, go for it with the girls your age. If you're not as comfortable, take a private lesson perhaps, or don't feel embarrassed if you're stuck in a class with girls half your age. It's up to you!! Good luck and have fun!!
