  1. Just get chinchilla SAND not dust. The dust can cause health problems in hamsters.

NEVER get a hamster wet. They will catch colds.

  2. no it will die

  3. you could just get some chinchilla sand, NOT dust. But is there is something stuck in your hamsters hair, you could put her in the sink with like 1 inch of water and use very little soap.

  4. Chinchilla sand should only be used for hamsters. Do not use chinchilla dust as hamster's respiratory systems are sensitive and the dust can easily be inhaled and cause allergy.

Leave a one-inch deep ceramic dish filled with chinchilla sand in the hamster cage so that the hamster can roll on it whenever he feels like. Change the sand once a week and remove any p**p on it with the litter scooper once in two days.

Hamsters are naturally neat animals and immaculately groom themselves. They do not need bath in any way and the chinchilla sand is more for their fun to roll around with an added purpose of cleaning their fur.

Hamsters should never be given bath with water or shampoo. It will cause only damage by stripping the hamster fur of its essential oils and leaving it prone to skin infection.
