Should I get braces now, or wait till I'm older for Veneers [or Invisalign]? Braces vs Veneers?

I'm currently a sophmore, which could be 2-3 years between high school and graduation.

I have a gap and I urged my dad for me to get braces, but he says I should wait till I'm 18 for Veneers [or Invisalign].

Which would be better? Veneers or Braces?

+1 to the above.

I had braces through high school: believe me, the earlier you get them the better.  I'd rather have them in bio class than have them when I'm sitting in a job interview at 22.  

No offense intended, but have a chat with your dentist rather than your dad.  Give yourself a break and get an early start.

If you have healthy teeth then braces.  If your teeth aren't in good condition the wait for veneers.  There is no reason you can't get invisilign now( if your a canident).  Go to a ortho. and ask him.  If oyu only have a gap the the braces should come off in a year ( at the latest)!  Only gaps move really fast!  I'm 14 and in 10th grade, I'm getting self ligating braces on the 4th.  So it's not a big deal at all.  I hope I helped you , good luck!
