Should I get braces?

I have 2 eye teeth that are a little out of place. I do not urgently need braces, but would like to have straight teeth. I'm wondering if it's going to be worth it? The orthodontist I saw says it will cost $5,500 for a 1.5 year treatment. Is it going to be worth it... it seems so expensive! Are there any other options which are less visible or less expensive?

If it's worth it or not is up to you. If your teeth aren't causing you any pain or eating problems then it's all about your self esteem. Braces are kind of a pain. I had them for 2 years. Food gets stuck in them, you can't eat certain foods. At first your mouth is really sore but after a while it callouses and it only hurts when they get tightened. But if you are going to do it wear your retainers and if they tell you to have you wisdom teeth pulled do it. I put off having my pulled and my bottom teeth are crooked again. Not as bad as they were but still. Have you looked into invisaline? I wish I could of gotten that instead of mental braces. I doubt it's cheaper but they have to be more comfortable then metal braces.

no one needs braces they just make your teeth straight...do you want your teeth straight or not?
