Should I get extended service protection plan for Sony Bravia XBR4?

Hi Everyone,

It is $385 for 5 years through PC Richard & Son....the TV is already expensive and the plan isn't cheap.....please advise....

My recommendation is no.

Sony has a decent track record and most electronic failures occur shortly after they are put in use and are still under warranty.

Extended warranty's make money for the seller. Chances are you won't have a problem in 5 years and in the unlikely event you do you can probably get it repaired for much less then $385.
