Should I get more PS3 games or my own TV???

I just bought the MGS4 PS3 bundle and I'm looking to get more games, but my parents are already complaining about me using their TV. I really would like my own tv but I don't know if it's worth it. I'm looking at the new(brand new, not even on the site yet) 22" AOC lcd hdtv. It's only $299. It has very impressive specs. But then there is also a new ASUS which is introducing the world's slimmest 22" with amazing specs too for only $350. Both of these tv's are within my budget but I don't know if I really need it because I can always buy more games.

  1. I say you buy yourself a new 1080p LCD TV, this would go great with those high definition games. The 19 inch Philips tv is $379 at Walmart. Besides you could download free PS3 demos from The PlayStation Store.

  2. Don't buy an HDTV if are only planning to play games.  Why pay for the internal tuner when you don't need it.  Buy a 22" or 24" LCD monitor instead (newegg.com).  Make sure it has a DVI or HDMI input that is HDCP compliant.  That will allow you to connect your PS3 to the monitor via HDMI.  If you buy a monitor with only a DVI input then you will need an HDMI to DVI converter ( >$5 at monoprice.com).  The picture from a $250 brand name monitor will look stunning.  You don't need 1080p at that size.
