ok here is the deal...I play soccer twice a year...once in the fall (starting in September) and once in Spring (starting in February.)

I reeeaaallllyyy want my belly button pierced, but with me playing soccer twice a year, I am worried about getting it infected...would it be okay to have it done, and just clean it out after practice and games? I am probably getting it pierced sometime next week if it is ok to go ahead and get it peirced.

  1. i dont think u should u will get a infection =\

  2. DONT GET YOUR BELLYBUTTON PIERCED!!! EWWWW GROSS.

  3. no

    just dont

  4. Don't get it pierced. Body piercings are dangerous and you are taking a huge risk of infection and scarring. In fact, the Health Department says Body Piercings are a public health hazard. Chances are, the person who does the piercing will not sanitize the needle or keep the place sanitary, risking the spread of Hepatitis or HIV. Also they probably won't use any sort of anesthesia (ouch!).

Also, look to the future. In forty years from now do you really think you will look back on it and think it was a good idea? Think about your grandma, do you want her to have a belly button ring? a piercing is permanent, so do you think you're children or grandchildren will like that?

  5. Just keep it off while you are playing soccer :)

  6. if you want to get it, get the piercing.

i got my belly button pierced when i was 18. i kept it clean, it never got infected. the toughest part was right after i got it pierced because it bled a lot... like i had to lie down for several hours because it wouldn't stop.

just make sure you don't do anything else the day you get it pierced just in case....

anyway, the only draw back is that if you stop putting the jewelry in, eventually the hole will close up.... but not entirely because the "hole" will always be right above your navel. you just can't jam anything into it.

whatever, it's a memory. plus when i got it done, it was super trendy to have your belly button pierced. it's not seen often now, i don't think.

  7. Self expression is cool I always say, but personally, piercings are a little tacky :)

  8. yeah that's fine, wont infect it!

just like you say, clean it after...wear a plaster over it if you want, mught keep dirt away.

i see no problem in playing soccer once its pierced, i know plenty of people that do!!!

    don't worry will be fine:-)

    good luck

  9. if your going to do it then wait till your done with soccer as the sweat  etc  will infect it so yeah it doesn't matter if you clean it it will have a very high chance if infection hope this awnsers it for you ^_^

  10. My suggestion is to get it during an "off" season where it has some initial time to heal without getting bumped or hit during sports (which can cause to tear/bleed/become infected) If your serious about getting it just make sure you do clean it after games. Also will your uniform rub against it? (donno much about soccer uniforms) if the waistband of your shorts is to high and rubs against it will become irratated and infected.

If it does seem to get getting infected you can fight infections with proper care. Care information should be given to you when you get it pierced by a professional piercer also if you have problems with it during the soccer season you can go back to that piercer and ask them how to deal with the problem.

If you do it yourself you will probably cause damage or it will become infected with or without soccer.

    Hope this helps.

  11. Don't get it pierced.  It is very dangerous to have your belly button pierced while playing sports.  It can easily get bumped, infected, or literally pulled out.  It is not worth it.  If your coach sees it, they will make you take it out.
