Should I get my prom date a boutonniere?

My prom date has gotten me a corsage, but I don't have a boutonniere for him. Is it rude to not get him one?

I think it is still the custom for you to get him one, if there is time, call the florist, or even our local grocery store has a little floral section where they could make one up for you.
