One of my lower wisdom teeth is coming in. It hasn't broken through the gum yet, but it has been hurting for a couple weeks. I went to the dentist and she said if it conintues to hurt to go to an oral surgeon. It has been a week since I went to the dentist. How much longer should I wait for the pain to go away before I decide to go to the surgeon?

  1. Well you should wait because you have 4 wisdom teeth and you would probably want them to get pulled all at once. They will have to cut open your gum and go in and pull it out. I am 14 and I already have my bottom ones out of my gum. I was going to get them out but I think you should wait because it will be more painful. It hurts when they first start to come in but taking advil will help. Just wait until they all grow in or atleast showing. I would go get your teeth checked out by your dentist, because they might be growing in sideways and that can mess up your teeth.

    Hope it helped:)

  2. Yes, but you should be warned that when they are pulled they really really really really hurt. They give you allot of medication to make you feel good and because of them you act a bit odd.

  3. You should get your wisdom teeth removed since it hurts. It could be impacted and be pushing against the molar next to your wisdom teeth, which can cause your teeth to become crooked.

  4. I'd say go ahead and see the oral surgeon or call him/her and see what they say.Of course they'll probably say come on in so they can at least check them out. When I went to the dentist,he said I needed my wisdom teeth out asap.I didn't get mine out simply cause they aren't bothering me.I hope this helps.

  5. The pain wont go away until you have them removed. They say that when babies get their teeth in thats what i feels like when your wisdom teeth come in. Before mine even came all the way through, they pulled them anyways. I had my bottoms out first then my tops, some dentist do all four. Its a pain in the *** afterwards, but it will be worth it! good luck!

  6. YES do it, i had my top 2 done and, really, it did hurt i have to admit it, but i'm glad i got it over with. And you will be glad too.

  7. your probably just hesitating cause lol duh noeone wants to have surgrey in their mouth.. lol

its not a big deal at all i got 8 teeth pulled... and i was recovered in notime, you should just go for it

  8. Don't wait, the pain might get even worse the longer you wait...I got my wisdom teeth out, and it only hurt for a couple days after...just take tylenol and eat somethng cold, like ice cream after...and you should be fine. After a few days, I was out again. Call back the dentist and ask if you can get it out a.s.a.p...

  9. Do it now, the earlier you can do it, the less painful it is.

My experience with the operation was not that bad. I was out doing things for the next 5 days. (lots of Tylenol 3s though.)

  10. do it now it will hurt so bad
