If I work over 40 hours at my workplace, but I work two different jobs there at different pay-rates, do I still get paid my overtime? Overtime in ym state is 1.5 times pay if you work over 40 hours in one week. I worked over 40, but doing different things. Does this count as overtime? What rate would they pay me for those extra hours?

  1. If you're paid on a weekly basis, you have a legitimate gripe. Discuss it with your employer and they'll probably resolve it in a hurry.

Any time you work beyond 40 hours in one week is overtime, and must be paid at 1.5 times your regular pay rate. Period. Simply tell your employer that there is a mistake on your check.

  2. Federal Law requires anyone working over 40 hours for one employer to pay time and a half.  Yes, that is overtime.  They should pay you 1.5 times whatever you earn for the hours in which you go over the 40.
