Hi I have ridden a 200cc dirt bike for about 3 years and am wanting a sportbike. I was wondering if I could handle a CBR954RR?< the reason i ask is because they have one used very cheap at a local dealer> I am very cautious and never do anything stupid on my enduro dirt bike or my car. Although can i handle the almost 800cc jump without killing myself? Also I plan on keeping this sportbike until the thing blows up lol.

  1. The RR will be crazy fast. You probably could handle it if you are careful, but an f4i would probably be a wiser choice. cheaper, too! if you are getting a great deal, and you like the bike, go for it, but be careful! Otherwise, check out craigslist for good deals on bikes in your area!

  2. Good answer, silly question.

  3. it would be better for u not to just bc RR's are supersports. but if you already have a feeling of the throttle then mayb. I would say first get the feeling of a sportsbike, then see if you can handle it.

the risk is only affected by how you ride....however, when you hit a hole in the ground and your hand slips giving lots of throttle, then you'll see why a 954 is such a bad idea. other than that there really isn't much of a problem.

ride a 600 sportsbike first, then buy it. I think that should keep you safe.

  4. you will love the rr just take it very easy the first couple of weeks and work yourself up to full throttle that bike is super quick and if not care-full it will throw you off the back i have a 929rr and its lots of fun

  5. Yes no problem.

Regardless of what anyone told me i went from a YZ250 MX bike and bought a Ducati 1098 for the road, i have just been very careful and listened to more experienced riders and rode with them, no problems even on track days ;)

  6. It only goes as quick as the wrist.
