Question:

Should I get the piercing...? (Answers please)?

I'm having a really hard time deciding this, so I came to you guys for help.

I really want a helix orbital (picture: http://z.about.com/d/tattoo/1/0/3/L/piercingpics2.jpg It's two holes on the top part of the ear, with one ring going through both, hence "orbital") but my parents are VERY against piercings and tattoos and things like that.

I finally convinced them to agree to let me get it for my 13th birthday which is coming up in a few weeks - but only on the condition that if I get it done then I'm not allowed to ask for any other type of piercing until I turn 18.

So the thing is, I'm not sure if I want to agree to this because I might want something else when I get older. That's not to say that they will agree to that something else, though... So what would you do?

(Oh and, please don't tell me that I'm too young. I look and act much older than I am, and I know what I'm doing.)

Please and thank you!

  1. I think if they're willing to let you get this one now, then you should do it.  If you really want something when you're older, then waiting a few years for it shouldn't be that big of a deal.  I made the same sort of deal with my mother and anything I wanted I got once I turned 18.  It's really not as far off as it seems.

It's not like she's getting a tattoo people.  If she regrets the piercing, then she can just take it out and let it close up.  You don't know her either.  All of the piercings I wanted when I was 13 that I couldn't get until I was 18 I still have.  If I didn't like them, then I could take them out.

  2. Your effing 13!

    Thats so stupid,

    wait until your like sixteen

    and get your belly botten

    pierced. Lame.

  3. Wait a few months then if you still want it then go for it. It's your decision and when you are 18 you can get whatever you want. Yea, i know it seems like awhile but if you want something really bad it will be worth the wait. The piercing is not lame...it's actually quite cool. Good luck :]

  4. I wouldn't do it quite yet. At least wait another year or half year, and if you still really want it, then go for it. If I got all the piercings and tattoos I wanted when I was 13... I would be in bad shape now. You could change your mind and regret it later. Maybe in a few years you'll REALLY want a different piercing, but you can't get it. Just make a wise decision. At a young age, it can be hard to choose something that you'll still like when you're older, too. Trust me, I know.

  5. I think you should wait till your older. I switch between favorite piercings and have an itch for a new piercing every month. If your heart is still set on the piercing in a couple of months I say you should get it. But, by then you may want a different one.

  6. uhh you ARE too young.

ive had my cartilage pierced and repierced since i was twelve

    and it got infected

you have to wait for your ears to grow completely or your body might reject it.

if you dont know what im talking about then you shouldnt get it done.

  7. It doesn't matter how old you look or how old you act, you aren't older...I wanted things when I was that age that I look back and am really glad I didn't get.  You are only 13 and most of the time you don't know what you are doing, things change so fast at that age!  Trust me, I'm only 18 and I am completely different than when I was 13.  I would wait a while, those piercings hurt really bad and can have some bad consequences.  Besides, there might be another piercing you want more in a couple years!

  8. I would get a piercing up there with one hole so if you do decide you don't want it you only have one hole up there...plus I think it looks a lil better....But if you really think you want it now go for it..it's a pretty cool piercing...
