  1. Its a bit of a gamble buying shoes or similar items on-line in case they don't fit.  I got lucky, mine did but can you return yours if there is a problem?  Mine were cheap so I didn't have much to lose and I could have probably sold them on. How long would you have to wait before you got the dearer ones anyhow?

  2. i think you should they are great skates and if the fit you good it is a good decision. the biggest thing is they have to fit.

  3. even though you do get a good deal on rainbosports.com you should get the $220 skates because you know they fit you.  in ice skating the prices can get expensive, but the quality and good fit is worth it.

  4. I couldn't get your link to work so I don't know which skates you're comparing, but don't be sucked in just because of free extras.  When you buy them from a pro shop you also get free extras - more important ones!  The adjustments (punching out at your ankles, or anywhere you feel the boot isn't right) and blade mounting are way more important than free blade guards.  Hardly anyone even wears boot covers, but you can get them for pretty cheap.

Whereas if you get ill-fitting boots, you'll have to pay someone to try to get them to fit you better.  In the pro shop, you're starting from a sure fit and adjusting them to be perfect.  Online, you're guessing and will pay for someone to make them liveable.

When your skates fit right you will learn your elements more quickly and correctly.  I don't know what the price difference is but it's worth the extra money to succeed at skating.  At your age and level you can expect to be needing good quality skates or your progress will slow down.
