  1. Dogs like that are very good family dogs

but puppies are alot of work

    so i think so

  2. not my favorite dog..unless you want a guard dog

  3. Yes. Blue ticks are awesome dogs and cute too

okay person above me. she says she knows the guy. and he's nice.

  4. NO! Not if its only 6 weeks old, a dog should be ATLEAST 8 weeks before handing over to a new owner. Also you need info on the puppy itself, get it checked out at the vet to make sure its all healthy and also to get the jabs! Go along with the previous owner, just to make sure everything is OK. xxxxx Good Luck! xxxxx

  5. you should get it it would complete any family

  6. the heeler is a great dog but not for everyone.  if the pup has good heeling instinct then it is pretty much imposable to keep them from heeling your horses.  they are great with their family but not always good with strangers, not big barker but will sneak up from rear and bite strangers.  i have had three healers and all fit the description above.  they are great watch dogs.  a friend of mine had a heeler named Tucker and every time i went to her house i would honk so she could come out and call Tucker before i got out of the car.  Tucker knew me but was very protective of his property.

they are very smart and can be trained and are very devoted.  they are called Australian Cattle Dogs in AKC.  see the site below for information.

  7. I'm assuming that by "blue heeler" you mean an Australian cattle dog.  Don't take it before it is 8 weeks old.  There is a lot of partial and total deafness in this breed.  Test that the puppy can hear you.  ACDs have a ton of herding instinct.  They need a job to do, they have to be kept busy most of their waking hours.  Cattle herding would be the logical choice for this breed.  You can also give it a lot of ongoing training, teaching it new things so it doesn't get bored.  Bored ACDs can get into major trouble, such "herding" traffic, if not kept in a fenced yard, or herding/harassing wildlife or your neighbor's animals, etc.  The dogs are wonderfully loyal, brilliantly intelligent, and a tad stubborn at times.  This is one of my most favorite breeds but they can be a real challenge and a major pain in the butt if you don't keep them busy.  Clicker training is ideal for an ACD that can hear.  You can do a web search on clicker training and buy books/dvds about it at Dogwise.com or Sit-Stay.com

  8. You would definitely have to take it to the vet, maybe get it neutered/spayed.  It'd be nice if you gave more info, like how many other pets you have and what kind, but I'd say an overall yes.

  9. OK...never just take a dog thinking...awww a puppy. DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! He is old enough and ready to go to a new home, but here is some advice. Blue Heelers are not very family oriented dogs. They are more of a working breed. They are the worst dog we see at work! They have a lot of aggression problems. If you do get this dog, please SOCIALIZE him!!! Very inportant! They don't have a lot of health problems.

  10. yahh there kool dog!!!

  11. I wouldn't - you don't know where the pup came from. You never met the parent dogs OR the breeder, you don't know the dog's genetic history, and you don't know about the rest of the litter.

It's obviously from an irresponsible breeder as it's only six weeks old. Eight is the absolute minimum and in some places it's illegal to sell pups under that age. Wouldn't chance it if i were you.

Do you know anything about the breed?
