Question:

Should I get this horse?

It's a 14 year old buckskin Arabian Quarter horse.

It tosses its head some and trys to take me to the barn. Its really nice. It bucks when you canter sometimes because it gets annoyed and has not been ridden much in 2 years. They said if you hit it with a crop it will stop. She can jump some. She is really cute and she's a mare. So should I get her?

  1. don't ever look back needs to chill.

the horse most definitely isn't dangerous because it bucks, tosses its head, and is somewhat barn sour.

you have to note also that the author says how much she loves the horse and wants it. so it cant be evil or dangerous.

also, do not EVER say you cannot teach an old horse new tricks. it is totally possible, and easy. maybe not as easy as some younger horses, but its easy.

the horse is in its prime.

    and i would buy her.

but i am also quite and experianced horse person and i have a trainer that specilizes in mostly arabs.

i love them and think they are some of the smartest horses out there.

even though i have an appendix quarter horse (:

    good luck!

im not going to say either way whether or not to buy the horse..but if you dont i hope you find another wonderful horse and if you do i hope you have great times with her!

  2. no. since you are not a trainer, what is the point. there are much better horses out there.

  3. At her age I wouldn't bother buying a horse with "bad habits" If you want a challenge go out and buy a TB or something young.

  4. Getting a trainer can cost a lot especially if a horse has that many problems. Do you know what you are getting yourself into? Sounds like she can be dangerous at times and you might get hurt. When you rode her was it two years ago, or recently? A horse can develop problems very quickly. If you haven't rode her since two years you might be in for a rude awakening. If you do buy her make sure you have a professional available to help you at all times. And I would suggest that you only ride when your trainer is available to help you overcome her problems if you do buy her. Perhaps send her off to the trainers for a while, they will or should be able to help most of her problems and get rid of her problems. Although sending a horse off to the trainers can be expensive. Good luck! She has a lot of vices which isn't good so you may want to consider buying a more "safe" and "reliable" mount.

  5. NO NO NO NO

                                reasons why

    1 she bucks

2 she hasnt been rid alot in 2 years

3 she go to the barn whenever she gets the chance

    4your only intermediate rider ( u said)

5 is her tack n a crop included

  6. dont mind the others i think you should,i also think horse and human are partners theres no such thing as theres other horses out there if you have a click and you can feel it between you two you should get her, if you and her have a bond you should

    x*x

  7. Well i don't think you should because she has allot of bad points

    1. Tosses her head

    2. Takes you to the barn

    3. Bucks

    4. Hasn't been ridden allot in 2 years

    5. 14 years old

But if you like her then go with what you think, but she has allot of bad points! ! !

  8. I would get her, but I really like the challenge.  Sometimes it isn't the horses fault that they are acting a certain way.  If she hasn't been worked with in a while, then all she needs it some TLC.  I personally like a challenging horse, and would get her if I liked her, regardless of her bad traits.

  9. if you can ride her.. and its her who u want... then go ahead...

  10. NO!

Why on earth would you buy that horse?

    Is it FREE?

    Re-read you Paragraph from a non-biased view...

    Would you buy that horse?

    Heck no!

    1. She is Barn Sour.

    2. She Bucks!

    3. She tosses her head.

    4. She is 14 no fixing her now!

    5. There is a reason she has not been ridden in 2 YEARS!

    6. There are other horses out there not just her. I suggest that you continue looking!

    7. You have to HIT the horse to make her stop? Hard in the mouth!

    Do NOT buy that HORSE!

Hope I Helped and best of LUCK!

    ADD:

YOU CANNOT TEACH AN OLD HORSE NEW TRICKS!

SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT SEND AN OOLD HORSE TO THE TRAINERS!

I am sorry but there is a reason why the person will take nothing for her! SHE IS WORTH NOTHING!

I do not care how good of a rider you are!

SHe is dangerous and should not be bought!  Do not get this one horse stuck in your head! Really good horses are out there for sale right now and I can honestly say just by reading what you wrote she is NOT one of them!

You should not need to hit the horse to make it STOP! UM HARD IN  THE MOUTH?

She sounds like a rotten horse that needs to stay with her current owner!

SHE BUCKS, YOU HAVE TO HIT HER TO STOP HER, SHE TOSES HER HEAD, AND IS BARN SOUR!

Give me a break you cannot even canter the horse because it will buck on you!

NO My opinion has not changed one bit!

    She is a BAD DEAL!

THAT IS WHY SHE IS SO CHEAP!

I would not even buy that horse if they paid me money!

Wouldn't you rather just buy the calmest horse that you can fully put your trust in? Stand on his back, crawl underneath, bridle and saddle calmly that doesn't buck?

Or do you want that naughty mare?

    ADD 2:

In my opinion you should be able to get  on your horse after 2 years and have her be an angle!

It is always that horse misbehaving when they buck She is trying to get you OFF!  And she will succeed and she has in the past.  THat is why she bucks she knows you will FALL off!

She is barn sour because she wants to be!

She is hard in the mouth because the bit is not good and people have to YANK on her to get her to listen~

    ADD:

OMG! They GAVE LESSONS ON THIS HOSE!!!!!

    THAT IS HORRIBLE!

It has now become obvious to me that you are not listening! You are just wanting me to say go for it buy the bucking horse!  You know what if you buy her knowing what you know, you deserve her!

You aren't listening! Detach yourself and look at it from a non-biased view!

    Okay...

Are you in the US? Like western or eastern?  I am going on dreamhorse.com and I bet that i can find one horse that is under 10,000 and is EXCELLENT!

    English or Western?

    To:

    Jordyn

Thanks for telling me what to think.

She is asking for an opinion and this is mine.

Call me what you want I really do not care.

YOU CANNOT RETRAIN AN OLD HORSE!

  11. if you did a pros and cons list to see if she is a horse you would want to get you would have almost all cons and barely any pros.

her age is against her however i started training my horse for eventing when he was 14 and he was awesome just because she is middle aged doesnt ALWAYS mean that she cant learn anything new...but on the other hand she could really be set in her ways and not want to open up her eyes...

i would look else where im sure you will find a nice horse else where that has more pros than cons

good luck hope this was helpful

  12. No, unless you want to handle that kind of horse. She may be a 14 year old, so you'd think that she would be calm, but you do not want a barn sour horse. It bucks because it gets annoyed? You need a tolerant horse that will forgive if you make mistakes. . . . that horse doesn't sound very tolerant at all. So, overall, I would suggest not getting that horse. Find one with better manners, and she'll be very rusty if she hasn't been ridden much in 2 years.

  13. no...to much c**p to put up w/ ... sounds pretty spoiled to me....i would find something else....i dont care how cute she is...lol

  14. We dont know enough to make this decision for you. your riding level your reason for this horse and how bad the horse truly is

  15. Why yes, I think that sounds like a fantastic idea.  The only thing it's lacking is the habit of rearing and falling over on you and breaking your back.  Other than that I think it sounds like a real winner.  I'd probably pay, oh, in excess of $10,000 for a horse like that.
