ok well i was wondering which type of laces I should get...I heard that waxed are better, but they can be too tight on your feet and uncomfortable... but the unwaxed skates can stretch and can hurt your hands when your tying them.....any suggestions??? BTW I am 14 y.a., have been playing for 61/2 years, and I have the Nike Bauer one95 skate

  1. Personally, I prefer waxed.  They're easier to control, easier to tighten, and less likely to soak up moisture (sweat, snow, etc.).

  2. I say that you  go with waxed because it keeps your skate tight before and after the game and unwaxed they losen up.

  3. waxed is the only way to go. Don't tighten down the bottom laces too tight. Just cinch down the top 3 holes.

  4. Waxed is preferred by most, It helps tighten your skates. When you pull them tight and let it go, it doesn't loosen as easily as unwaxed skates helping you have a tighter feel.

"Waxed laces stay tight longer and wear down less quickly when going through eyelets."

"Sonic Tip laces are tipped using patented sonic-fusion system. The Results are heavy, durable laces with tips that do not fray, crack or break off."

You can also get the hook, it helps you tighten your laces without hurting your fingers.

Edit Sorry I thought i put a website, thats what the hook looks like, instead of sticking your fingers in your tighten laces just use the hook to tighten it, It works no worries and it is cheap. The have it at most hockey stores

I personally would get this one http://www.inlinewarehouse.com/descpage-...

    Detailed I know ^_^

  5. I've always worn waxed ones. You want your skates to be as tight as possible at all times and wax ones don't lossen up if tied right. They will not tighten so the will stay as tight as you leave them.

As far as hurting your fingers they sell a cheap little skate lace key to help you make them tight without the finger burn.

To answer your question Waxed....unless for some reason you like looser skates.
