Should I get winter tires, all-season, or just sipe my tires?

Question

My front tires are good, but my back tires are kind of worn. Winter is here in Salt Lake City and the roads are slippery. I drive an '03 Celica GT-S.

I'm rather poor so I'd need to get the tires on credit. If I get winter I'd have to change in the summer, which means spending more money and finding storage in my apartment.

I don't really want all-season because my front tires have good treads.

Sipe sounds good but I don't know how much of a benefit it will help with ice/slush.

I got a good deal on tires from Goodyear. The very best tires that I have ever owned in fact. They are Goodyear Assurance. They are awesome in dry weather as well as rain, snow and decent on ice. You really have to be careful though. If you are a good driver, you don't need snow tires which the assurance are not. they are really all weather tires. love them. Good luck in getting the best ones.   :o)

if you are a good enough driver i would get sipe. they will be nice in the summer, if you can afford all 4 it would be way smarter to invest in a good set of all seasons, this way you will never have this problem again. (if you have nice Friends and family have them chip in on a good set for Christmas or Hanukkah, or whatever winter holiday you may celebrate.

i would probably go with all season

I don't know if that car is front or rear wheel drive.  But  get 2 new all season tires and install on the drive wheels and install or leave the other good tires on the non-drive wheels.

get all season tires with the warranty just in case you get a flat tire.
