Should I give a resume for a job that I have no experience in?

I am in the video production industry as a cameraman/Lighting Technician. Because of the economy I have had to find additional employment outside of my industry, in the grocery industry.

Should I still give a resume though none of my experience applies to this type of job?

  1. I doubt the grocery store is going to be discriminating against you for having lighting experience. Of course, I suppose it really depends on what kind of job you're looking for. Obviously, management, overseer, etc. might very well be a little more choosy. If you just want to bag groceries, however, it'll be fine. You don't even have to put it on your resume later on once the economy picks back up.

  2. ya go ahead and apply especially the grocery store, they might start you off as a bagger, but hey its money, if you want to be a cashier you can say you've had cashier experience like 2 years ago, and they will bump you up to one right away, its not rocket science, they never check up on your past experience anyway, and whats the worst that can happen they don't hire you and you apply somewhere else
