Question:

Should I give my friend gas money...?

My brother usually takes me to school in the morning,

but he's out of town.

So I've asked one of my friends to give me a ride.

I'm partially on his way to school.

From his normal route, he goes an extra .5 miles.

He'll be doing this for 5 days.

With it only being a round trip of 5 miles this whole week,

is it worth pitching in for gas money?

  1. I agree.Buy him lunch or rent a movie for him. Even if his vehicle gets less than ten miles a gallon he still should not use more than a couple a dollars worth to swing buy and get you.

  2. yes, .5 miles there and .5 back and then back to his normal route, also he has to stop and wait for you instead of keeping his daily routine. offer 20 bucks or some road head

  3. wow, i would. Just because gas is soo high right now, and maybe give your friend alittle money, not much, cuz its not a big deal picking you up. But just alittle. Then they wouldnt be like hey shes just using me for a ride or something, and then your being nice about it all.

  4. just to show that you appreciate that he's driving you, i would treat him to a drink at starbucks or a milk shake or sandwhich or something.

  5. I would offer either to pitch in for gas or an alternative - like milkshake, lunch etc.  Give him the choice.

  6. Normally, when I would drive a friend to school, they'd offer to smoke some reefer with me. But a milkshake or a soft pretzel works just fine.

  7. financially, it's not worth it, but $5 isn't much to avoid pissing off (or at least annoying) a friend. he is still going out of his way, even if it isn't much, and it's nice to at least offer to pay him something for it

  8. id give some $$ just to show your appreciation that he is willing to veer off his normal route, spend a bit of extra time to get you .................

or you could learn to ride a bike
