Question:

Should I give up football?

My dream is to just simply play football. I don't necessarily want to be famous or anything I just want to do what I like for a real team. I have been practising for months now and although I am making improvement I don't seem to be getting much better. The simple answer would be; keep practising. Sure, simple enough right? But it's not quite as easy as that. Because although of my young short attention span my mum is also getting in the way of my dream.

The main reason I play football is because, like most people my age; I spend far too much time in front of the idiot box, my game consoles or my laptop. So my parents said, "Get outside and do something with your life." So I was like; okay then I will.

Now here's where the problem is. Being a Goalkeeper means practising many things one of which is kicking and occasionally the ball will fly off to the right and hit a window or a chair. No matter what it is I practise it always ends up hitting something. Not necessarily breaking it but pissing my mum off. My mum has a VERY short fuse and if it does so much as go near a window she will swear at me continuously for about 5 minutes and ends up saying play down the side of the house. There are two reasons why I don't.

1. I have literally 1 foot of space from the wall to the neighbour's fence.

2. The side if the house is literally made of glass there is that many windows.

I just need a little bit of inspiration, advice, anything please. Right now as I am writing this my Dad is telling me to go outside and play football for a bit =/

Now my advice is, keep practising, practise when your mums away.

Go join a local football team, go to a park, but never stop practasing

    Good luck

  3. do not give up.

  4. Don't give up... Just keep on pursuing your dream... ^_^

  5. go find a park, and play football with your friends man

  6. Never give up......i'm in the same situation as you. Why not join a team then if people say you're good enough have a trial at a real life football club.If this isn't possible call your friends over to the local park and play.(if they live closeby). Don't worry i know many people in the same situation as you. Despite the downs i get in school i get a lunch break for an hour at 12:10 and at that time i play football......iit gives me a little bit of a lift and plays a huge part in me gaining my confidence. So i'm sure it will be the same for you...carry on enjoying you're football and no don't give up.
