Right now, 2 other girls and I rent a really nice house. Our lease is up at the end of August. I am broke. I had two jobs when we first got the house... but the last couple months i have just had my one full time job, and I don't make enough to live on. My step-mom has been bailing me out every month for the last few months... and i owe her probably close to $700. She is letting me move back in with her till january or so. (well, she says I can stay as long as I want). I want to pay her off... and save up enough money so I can move back out by January. If i get a second job... this will be cake, and I will have money. I am supposed to be getting a raise within the next couple of months to, so that when i do plan to move out I will make enough money at one job to support myself, and i will actually have money in my savings. Everyone wants me to go back to school this quarter though... and I can't go to school full time and have two jobs...

  1. Hey N - I would totally look into student loans and other financial aid because it sounds like based on your financial situation you would totally qualify!  You do have to pay them back eventually but typically the interest rate is awesome so it's one of the best loans you can get.  Try to avoid missing school because it will disrupt the rythm - plus it's a totally rad time in your life to be in school provided all your fun time isn't taken up just trying to make ends meet and working.

That said - I too took time off my first two years of college - it took 4 years - but for my Jr/Sr year I saved up, scored some scary big student loans - got a small scholarship and was able to work summers and go to school full-time during the school year.

Good luck.  I know it might be scary to go into debt - but you'll be able to pay it off quickly after school I can almost guarantee - just get that degree, land a semi-sweet job and live like a college student a bit longer after school and you'll be fine.

  2. i would set up some low monthly payments, leaving her maybe 50 d check every 2 weeks would be ok ... i mean going to school will def. accelarate ur career so u'll be closer to graduating ... i would get back and try work part time if possible...
