Question:

Should I go for the Mac Mini?

I need a new computer, so went searching for Macs. I found this "Mac Mini" and thought it was WAY to good to be true. I don't know everything about computers, like "Ethernet", "Firewire" or "Leopard" so If you can give me a brief description of those things, it would be great. I don't need to know, though so if you don't, I don't either. Anyway, I heard so many great things. Like Wifi capabilities. So this means that you can get a signal and use it to browse the web like a laptop? Also, I am just looking for a short, easy overview of the whole mac part, if you can. The site just is to much for me. Oh, yeah, forgot. I am on a budget, so does anybody know a store, or website that you can buy on used or refurbished for a low price (like 400, 500 dollars). Thankyou if you have any information for me.

  1. No.  The best computers are Dells and Alienwares.  If you buy a mac it's like saying that "I'm an idiot and like to spend money on c**p."  Windows is the best.  Get a Dell Inspiron or XPS.

  2. Well done on choosing a mac! The mac mini has always been the budget option, but it will run fine unless you use it for hardcore gaming etc. Things like ethernet (for internet, networks), wifi and firewire (a faster usb) are not mac exclusive, however leopard refers to mac's latest os (aka mac os x 10.5). $400-500 would only get you quite an old mac mini or other mac. I bought an imac for £799 and it's really worth the price. Although they cost more at first, macs make up for it in their future use.

  3. Live the digital life in stylish simplicity — up to 39% faster.1 Just 6.5 inches square and 2 inches small, Mac mini lets you have more fun with your music, photos, and movies, more quickly and more easily. Enjoy them up close or far away with the included Apple Remote. The most affordable way to Intel Core 2 Duo, iLife ’08, and Front Row starts at $599.  Ethernet is a family of frame-based computer networking technologies for local area networks.  FireWire is a method of transferring information between digital devices, especially audio and video equipment.  Mac OS X version 10.5 “Leopard” is the sixth major release of Mac OS X, Apple’s desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers, and is the successor to Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger".
