I started working at my current job about 5 months. I'm not pleased with the work itself, but it's a great work environment, reasonable salary for waht I'm doing and I get benefits. Plus, the people are great and I work for a good cause.
I definitely want to stay within this organisation, and I love my boss -- rare, I know, but she's really a great person to work for and reminds me of my mother in the way she is so caring and compassionate. She never pressures me and always praises me for my work.
Meanwhile, there is an opening elsewhere in the organisation working for a coordinator that I don't particularly get along with. His team is great and he does his work well, I just disagree with some of his methods. The position however, is EXACTLY the kind of work I'd like to be doing.
I'm a bit nervous about applying though because I recently applied for another internal position and someone else got it (I didn't have the education they were looking for) but I have the right profile for this job and I think I could get it.
I'm just not sure how things will look if I apply for another position internally a month after the last one. I don't want them to think I don't enjoy my work, but I would like to give it a shot. Is this strategic? What if I don't get it, how will things look? If I do get it, what if I don't enjoy working with the coordinator there? What's more important, the work itself or the environment?
I'm not even sure if the application deadline has passed and it might even be too late.
Any advice?
