Hey everyone,

I'm a 19 year old guy looking to have a good time. I have been on multiple cruises before with family (probably four or five cruises) but never alone. Anyways, I always had a good time before but now I am wondering if it would be any good alone.

  1. welllll......i'm a freeeee spirit and i say go for it!!!!......if you can indeed book the trip......and as long as you check in  with the "fam" every day.....i don't see nothing wrong with it......you could do everything you want to ..........and just have no worries......have fun!!!!!

  2. Tinker is wrong...

"And finally, Cruise lines do not book any cabins single occupancy; you would have to pay a double fare to occupy a cabin alone, or get a room mate. "

check out cruisedirect.com . select the cruise you are interested in and change the number of people to 1 instead of 2.

They have several cruises that only charge 50% premium or less for a single passenger , not 200%. The cruise lines would rather fill the cabin with a single traveler than have it go empty.

One 4 night cruise listed at $229 per person was priced at $339 for just a single, not the doubling that usually occurs. Another at $449 pp was priced at $614 for a single.

Royal Carribean seems to be the nicest to singles. Princess never cuts a break. It's hit and miss, you just have to do some homework.

  3. I don't think you can cruise alone until you are 21 or over.

BUT, I know one major issue is, if you book a room with just you, it will cost more since the prices of rooms are for double occupancy.

Bring a buddy and go cruising with him when you turn 21.

  4. There are singles cruises..

You can also alert the cruiseship, that you are alone and they have special accomidations, for you to meet other people travelling alone as well.

May be a good way to meet people, but its hard to say the majority age group of unaccompanied passengers.

  5. I will give you some good reasons not to.  If you have been on other cruises before and had a good time then I wonder why you want to now go alone.  The answer to your question is really one of legality.  You are not old enough to book a cruise alone; this is from the Royal Caribbean site:  "No guest under the age of twenty-one (21) will be reserved in a stateroom unless accompanied by an adult twenty-one (21) years of age, or older."

In addition, you cannot buy alcoholic beverages until you are 21, unless the cruise originates in Europe or South America where the legal drinking age is different.

And finally,  Cruise lines do not book any cabins single occupancy; you would have to pay a double fare to occupy a cabin alone, or get a room mate.

  6. Well, better try to travel alone.  If you don't like this idea, all you need is to inform me and I will accompany you.  But of course, you must pay for my travel.

    Have a nice day.

  7. HONESTLY, THE BEST THING TO DO IS GO ON A CRUISE WITH SOMEONE YOU KNOW. WITH ALL THE STUFF THAT IS HAPPENING IN THE CRUISE INDUSTRY NOW DAYS IT IS THE SAFEST THING TO DO. PLUS ANOTHER NEGATIVE THING IS THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY DOUBLE OCCUPANCY ON A CRUISE SO THAT MEANS YOU NOT ONLY PAY FOR YOU BED BUT THE BED THAT NO ONE IS USING, SO YOU WILL BE PAYING OUT A LOT OF MONEY. 8. no you shouldn't go alone, take me with you  it will be fun even though i dont know you. just dont go alone

  9. go alone  you need better fun   yup  go alon

    :)

  10. Really, it would not matter if you would have a good time or not.  The major cruiselines will not let a 19 year old book a cruise.

Check out the websites of the major cruiselines such as Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Carnival, etc. to see the minimum age that you can be to cruise without an adult.
