have booked a holiday to Varadero for the last week of September and the first week of October but this is the rainy season and I am worried about the weather while I am there. Should I change the dates or leave it as it might not be that bad.

  1. bring us back some cigars!

  2. hurricane season not rainy season

  3. My husband and I have gone to Varadero 5 times during either September or October and the weather was always good. There may have been an odd day with big wind or a rainstorm, but it was a good time to go.  Enjoy your holiday!  Wish I was going!

  4. I've been 4 times in September and the weather was beautiful,go for it and have a great time,I'm sure you will.

  5. The pundits are predicting a big shift in Cuban/American relations which could see the current state of affairs thawing out. This could mean millions of American tourists pouring in, huge hotels swamping the beaches and little independent eateries/shops/hotels being squeezed out by Starbucks, Wal-Mart and Holiday Inn.

So a lot of people in the travel industry are saying go to Cuba, and be quick!

Please don't stay in Varadero the whole time. It's one huge resort for foreigners. Try to see some of the real Cuba - you won't be too far from Havana.

And like Gary has said, it's hurricane season, not rainy season. It can rain anytime, but that time of year there could be a hurricane. However, they are slow-moving and fairly easy to track, so the resort would have advance warning to take care of you.

  6. Wherever you go, weather can be unpredictable.. Just go and hope for the best.
