Should I go to Belize or Ecuador? ?

Question

There is a program at my college where I can do a study aboard for half a year in Belize or Ecuador, but I really don't know much about either place. Has anybody lived there? Would it be safe for a young woman? I have heard of kidnappings and other violent crimes. Any personal experience that might help me? I only speak English and have never been far outside the USA.

Cool, well it's kinda foggy there. And if you go to Machala you might get bit by these not very nice bugs. But it's really Beautiful.

Like all places, it depends where you go to be safe or not. Honestly, I think it's kind of like the USA, but in Spanish. There are places to farm and there are some city's with really cool architexture. I don't know where Belize is, but Ecuador is really cool. Plus- Spanish is pretty easy to learn, it's a lot like english.
