I have been thinking of it because I think it would be a great experience, but I am also not sure if it would be good either. Is there anyone that likes boarding school or didn't? Please explain. And how much does it usally cost?

  1. i went to a boarding school for 5th grade. it was fun and i really liked my roomates. it was a great experience but i missed my parents. otherwise i loved all the freedom. I am not saying this is going to happen, but i went to one in south carolina and on the weekends we went to the beach! The whole school part was harder then regular school and they are usually expensive. not sure how much mine cost but i think we could only afford one year. the campus was big and really fun.I don't know what else to say. if you have ever seen zoey 101, it is sorta like that. SORTA!!!! Not really but kind of. I hope that helped.

  2. I went to boarding school for my high school years and I had a great experience, as did the vast majority of the people there. It's very hard to be general about boarding school. Each school is usually quite different from the next. But one thing that is true across the board is that you are practically guaranteed to have a great time at boarding school. In my experience the only people who didn't have a good time caused the discomfort themselves. Homesickness is never something to worry about unless you are extremely dependent on your parents. I was only homesick for the first night, some will be homesick for a little longer. Boarding schools tend to keep you very busy and this keeps your mind off of homesickness quite well.

Boarding schools tuition in America ranges from the low of $30,000/year to the high of $45,000 a year. The average boarding school in the U.S. costs $37,000/year. The more established, better known boarding schools typically have the best financial aid offered as they have large financial endowments and can subsidize more of your tuition costs. Best of luck.

  3. Boarding school can be an excellent option for those needing more academic challenge than their local schools offer. It helps if you're mature and ready to be more independent. The good boarding schools have unmatched facilities and opportunities.

  4. I do I would recommend it. I don't know what country you are from, in England or the UK in general there is a school called christ's hospital and it is charity run so what you pay is completely means tested, some people don't pay a thing. But if you can afford it then I say go for it!!

    Good Luck x*x
