Monday it will be 95 degrees outside. OMG. A few days ago it was 70 degrees and I almost dies in the heat at school because it was sooo humid and hot. My class has alot of people in it. Actually 25, not including the teacher. Should I go to school Monday? How do I convince my mom its just way too hot? And theres no AC.

  1. No, do not go. Missing a day of school is no big deal. You do not want to go to the hospital for heat exhaustion or heat stroke which can be life-threatening. I'm sure your parents would not send you if it was 40 below zero or a raging blizzard. Why is this any different. 95 degrees is just as dangerous as 40 below zero. Take care of your health and stay home. For the future, ask your parents to get the school to install A/C. Maybe ask other parents to join in. There is no excuse for schools to not have A/C. This is North America, not some poor undeveloped African country.

Tell your mom that heat exhaustion can cause severe health problems. The human body cannot withstand those temperatures, especially combined with humidity. If she forces you to go, soak your clothes in ice cold water and make sure you have access to an ice chest to keep your clothes cold and wet. Also tell your mom that the #1 weather-related killer of people worldwide is HEAT. It's more than cold, storms, tornadoes and hurricanes combined!

  2. when you dont go to college you are going to regret not going to school because you were crying about how hot it was.

  3. spend the night with your head under the pillow and pile on all the blankets you can find.. fake fever!!! You can be "sick".
