Should I go to the dentist if I'm sick?

I have a dentist appointment to get four cavities filled tomorrow. But for the past few days I've been feeling awful (coughing, sore throat, head ache, etc.)

Should I call my dentist & postpone the appointment or going to the dentist when you're sick really not a big deal?

  1. I would call and talk to your dentist tommorow. They may not be able to fill the cavities. Are you running a fever or anything? I was sick and they refused to do any treatment because you can get sick from the general anesthetic they give you to numb your mouth

  2. In courtisy to the docter I would say yes

  3. Sure go for it!

  4. Please, stay home. We work inside your mouth and there are many viruses and bacteria that are spread through saliva. Yes, we wear gloves and masks, but we'd much rather work on patients that can breathe easily and not cough. Do yourself and your dental professionals a favor. Reschedule when you feel better.

  5. If i's not an emergency you should reschedule your appointments and stay home so you don't spread whatever you have around. If it's urgent then call your dentist and ask what he/she thinks you should do.

  6. It is possible that your sore throat is related to a tooth or gum infection. I have had my dentist prescribe antibiotics for a sore throat.

Getting a cavity filled may be uncomfortable if you are having trouble breathing through your nose.

If you have recurring sinus trouble, and general feeling bad, try some OPC-3 available at http://free2bme.ws
