Should I go to the doctor's?

About 4 years ago, I took 28 500mg each pills of ibuprofen (that equals 14,000 total mg, way above the recommended, but not seriously toxic according to wikipedia). Since then, I have had a lot of sinus problems (mainly sinus infections), colds, etc. Last year I started drinking a little bit too heavily and soon after I got strep throat twice in a couple of months, and was constantly sick. A nurse told me I probably had acid reflux and the alcohol was possibly coming up my throat at night and so that's why in the morning my throat was so sore. Ever since, I haven't drank and haven't been sick. But now I'm wondering if I should see a doctor to run some tests on me in case I have long term liver damage or anything, and I was also wondering if those things could be related.

  1. Yes see a doctor, your health issues could be anything.

  2. yes you should go to the doctor. I ont think you have damaged

your liver due to the ibubrofen because liver damage symptoms would have shown up much earliereg anaemia, jaundice, bowl prolems etc. You could have acid reflux in your throat and that naads to be sorted out. get it checked. good luck

  3. Yes you should!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  4. Yes you should go to the doctor and have some blood tests done. Chances are that you would have had trouble before now from the ibuprofen so there is probably nothing too wrong. It does irritate the stomach though. Maybe your stomach is a bot sensitive and the booze upset it. You could have had reflux but this would not cause strep throat (which is an infection).

It sounds like you haven't been to the dr with the throat - are you sure it was strep? The nurse could be right. It may just have been the reflux.

You might have the beginnings of a stomach ulcer so it would be a good idea to go and have a checkup and meantime take better care of yourself.

  5. Yes, get a complete check-up. Especially your blood!

  6. Seeing your doctor won't cause any harm and could well set your mind at rest.
