I am a weekend golfer who is looking to improve my game. Also, would the Callaway x18's be that much better than both of these?

  1. nike id say but demo demo demo, get what you are comfortable with

  2. All three of those sets are pretty well regarded by most of the golfing community (from what I've read on forums and the like).

The most important thing is how you respond to them. Find a local pro shop that will let you demo them, or at least let you put your hands on them. If you don't feel comfortable, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks or says.

    Best of luck!

  3. The Rac's have been around for a few years.  TaylorMade has 'tweaked' them a little over that time, but some of their newer model irons are far superior.  The R7s and Burner XD irons are both excellent irons.  The quality is reflected in the price though as they'll both be more expensive than the Racs.  I have never used the X18s so I can't be off assistance with that selection.

  4. The actual answer to this lies within you.  Which club do you hit the best?  Hit them all on a launch monitor.  The data will tell you which is best for your particular swing.  Only buy what you hit best.....No matter what the brand is.   Don't get caught up in what I call the "game improvement hype"  I still play to a 2 and still use my 15 yr old Titleist irons......go figure.
