My parakeets won't hatch their eggs. should I hatch their eggs for them?

  1. Hi,

    No don't unless you are experienced in hand rearing.


  2. Not unless you have a proper incubator, and have experience hand feeding and caring for baby birds. Not to mention the time that will be required to hand feed them from day one (round the clock, you can't miss a feeding, have to have right temperature, consistency, not aspirate the chick as you're feeding, etc....)

  3. Do you really want to sit on a pile of eggs for a couple of weeks?. I think the cost of the special incubator required would far out weigh any benefits.

  5. If they're not hatching them on their own there's probably a reason for it.

    Something tells me you won't be able to "sit" on a clutch of eggs for 15+ days - then care for begging chicks for another 4+ weeks.
