i used to work at burger king, and one day, i just got sick of the drive thru customers, that after one of them told me to "give them one second" (after i asked them how i could help them), i told them "sorry, we dont sell seconds...only burgers."

the customer got angry, and left. i got written up.

do u think i deserved it?

  1. that sounds like something I would say to my customers. I don't think you should have. seriously, working at BK must blow, you have to be able to have fun somewhere!! I think you got wrote up because you made an almost paying customer leave.

  2. well you think you got confused so i say no

  3. I think we need to start selling senses of humor! that was pretty funny....albeit inappropriate according to "customer service standards"  - regarding the consequence - I understand the write up as the manager needs to set the example to all employees as is often the case what You did was funny and by no way obscene etc...but another employee may take their mood and go too far...so as a manager a standard should be set - find out if the write up is permanent or if after say 60 days & no other incidences it can be removed? Unfortunately you are at the discression of your mangers personality - some Mngrs may have let you off on a verbal warning, others take it to the next level...but at the end of the day that was still funny...

  4. no you shouldn't have, i think whoever wrote you up was having a bad day but its burger king, i am sure this is not going to be your career, so just let your supervisor have his ego trip and forget about it.

  5. as much as it stinks to deal with irritating customers, i have to side with your manager/supervisor on this one.

fast food is a type of industry that places a BIG emphasis on customer service and needless to say...that was kind of really poor customer service. maybe you need a little vacation from your job or perhaps get into a position that has a little less....contact with people.

  6. That was clever, but yes, you deserved the write-up.  Sorry.  The way your manager sees it, your job is to provide customer service, not stand-up comedy.
